Diesel engine repair, piston and ring replacement
Hello, tell me, can I put them back with my rings after removing the pistons on a diesel engine, or do I need to put new ones
The clearance is normal pistons without scuffing, but they tell me that if the rings are put the same there will be no compression
What was the repair? If repair means changing rings, then it's like a dead poultice. The engine will not work better.
And why did I take it apart? Not for a replacement? Only putting new ones also makes no sense, you need to bore the cylinders.
The ring must be loosened slightly, if the ring is elastic and has taken its original position, then the ring has passed the first test. The o-ring works like a pump, and the oil scraper removes oil residues from the cylinder bushing and they are made of gray cast iron. The gap in the lock is measured as follows: a ring is inserted into a new cylinder sleeve that does not work, approximately to the top dead center, in the lock we measure the gap with a probe and check with the passport data. We set the rings with the smallest clearance from the top (bottom) of the piston. We deploy the locks according to the scheme. Through the "lure" with oil lubrication we install the pistons.
Compression will still not happen until the cylinders are pierced under the repair pistons ... The rings are definitely new. There are no scuffing on the pistons ...
if the clearance is normal. put what was, the new does not mean better, it is not once checked. the most incomprehensible why disassemble the motor if you do not know what to do next
